About

Team Vansitar

At Vansitar we are a family, Dobermanns are our passion.

Our team includes:

Vivien first registered the Vansitar prefix in 1975. Vivien was a very successful breeder producing many Champions and Grand Champions including the first Australian Supreme Champion Dobermann. Vansitar Dobes have competed in Conformation Showing, Obedience, Agility, Jumping, Endurance and Working Aptitude.

Vivien had a great passion and commitment for the Dobermann breed. She became the Head Trainer of the Dobermann Club of WA in 1992 and continued in that role till 2013 when her illness prevented it. She was also awarded Life Membership to the Club and was the President from 1995 to 2013. She was also the Chair of the National Dobermann Council of Australia and a Breed Surveyor.

Her commitment to the dog world did not stop there. She has had a very long association with the Utility Dog Club from its inception and the combined group club before that. Vivien was the President of the Utility Dog Club of WA for 5 years. She also has served on several Canine Association of WA committees.

Sadly Vivien lost her battle with Breast Cancer in March 2013. Team Vansitar is committed to carrying on her legacy.

Des along with his late partner Vivien have been involved with Dobermanns for nearly 40 years. Des met Vivien in the 1990’s when she sold him a dog – MBIS Ch Alldobe World Wide Web WAC ET.  All of the dobes at his house take pride of place on the couch or bed, instead of kennels and they have plenty of romp time on his five acre property. Des is a Life Member of the Dobermann Club of WA as well as being the current President, a Governing Councillor of the Canine Association of WA (Dogs West) and is the state delegate for the National Dobermann Council of Australia. He is also Vice President of the Utility Dog Club of WA and was the President of the Perth Training and Obedience Club.

Jenny bought her first Dobe in 1991, Ch Tornadobe White Dove (AI), a daughter of Am Ch Julmar’s Jeronimo. Over the years she has handled for, whelped and raised puppies for many Dobermann kennels including Tornadobe, Bravadobe and Vansitar. Jenny has been friends with Viv and Des for more than 20 years, a relationship founded on a common love of the dogs. She is a past committee member of the Dobermann Club of WA. She also breeds GSPs under the Kobidan Prefix.

Danielle is a relative newcomer to the world of Dobermanns. Her enthusiasm in the breed has seen her involved in obedience and conformation showing. Danielle strongly believes in a raw food diet and is continually exploring alternative and holistic health options for our breed. She is the current Secretary of the Dobermann Club of WA and a qualified obedience trainer with the Dobermann Club of WA.

Tracey our East Coast Rep, met Viv over 18 years ago when she purchased her 1st Vansitar Dobermann and has never looked back. Tracey and her husband Ambar have successfully co-bred under the guidance of Viv and have had the pleasure of co-owning, owning and borrowing a number of Vansitar offspring to achieve the status of Champions, WAC & ET titles.

Marilyn joined the DCWA in 2003. She met Viv and Des at the Dobermann Nationals that year and remained a close friend of Viv's. Marilyn is the current Treasurer of the Dobermann Club of WA (a position held since 2007), is the Training Co-ordinator of the Dobermann Club Obedience Training and has been and integral part of the organising team of the Doberman Clubs Specialty Shows, Obedience Trials and Jumping & Agility Trials.

Dimbi  has had Dobes since 1993 and joined DCWA at that time where she became friends with Viv. In 1997 she purchased a lovely red bitch CH Vansitar Shamiya CD ET ADX JDX who was shown to her Australian Champion title and then pursued agility and obedience. "Aaspen" had 2 litters and Dimbi kept a black male Vansitar Hugo Boss CD WAE ET ADX JDX from her second litter who had a fun agility and obedience career. Formly a Vet Nurse, Dimbi retrained and now works as a Scientist with St John of God Pathology. Her current dobermann is the beautiful and very successful Supreme Ch Vansitar Argyle Diamond ET WAC.

Zoe got her first Dobermann in 2007 and started her life long passion with the breed. She soon became involved in all aspects of training and went onto trialling in Obedience, Rally O and Agility with her dobes, with one of the highlights being a near perfect score of 99/100 at an obedience trial with her first dobe. In 2008 Zoe lent a hand to a friend to help with Confirmation showing and hasn't looked back - she is now one of our special handlers who loves the high energy "exuberant" ones!

Elaine & Alan welcomed Dakota their first Dobermann into their home as a loving pet and within a year they had caught the showing bug! Elaine is our chief catalogue marker and Alan is forever helpful Mr Fixit! They now find their home ruled by three Dobermanns.

Glenn, Laurie & David the long suffering husbands who often "willingly" attend shows to help with the set up and essential coffee runs to keep us going!

"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace."
